Jay Hill

Research Assistant

University of Wollongong

Jay is a Research Assistant developing and characterising a method to produce spatially patterned cell culture models, generating concentration gradients of morphogens through their gradual release from a hydrogel source.

They were drawn to this work by the goal of reproducing one of the driving mechanisms of embryogenesis — the use of concentration gradients to direct tissue growth — and its potential impact in the biomedical field.

Outside the lab, Jay’s interests include snowboarding, medicine, and the outdoors.
